Parents' Meeting
The fragrance of lotus flowers in early summer mingles with the scorching sun. On June 30th and July 1st, the Junior High School Division of the east campus held parent meetings for the seventh and eighth grades, building a bridge for communication between home and school, and discussing education together with parents to explore the path of their children's growth.
First and foremost, head teachers were like timekeepers, using meticulously edited class videos to kick off the parents' meetings, showcasing children's focused eyes, their determined figures, and the moments when their talents shone, which depicted the images of children's growth. Also, from the well-organized class culture with a rich aroma of books to the orderly classrooms and dining halls, head teachers detailed to parents the vigorous growth of the class collective. In terms of learning situation analysis, head teachers used data to present the learning process, analyzing the growth trajectory through case studies, fully affirming students' progress in learning and also emphasizing the significance of cultivating learning habits. On the other hand, head teachers put forward practical suggestions regarding the vacation and the subsequent study situation. Therefore, it's believed that students will have a balanced schedule during the summer vacation and gain rich and rewarding experiences.
Furthermore, teachers from various disciplines focused on the characteristics of their respective subjects, providing parents with a wealth of 'learning knowledge'. For instance, Chinese teachers, from the perspectives of reading and writing, shared efficient reading methods and techniques, encouraging students to read extensively to accumulate knowledge and enhance their literary literacy. Besides, math teachers, taking into account the key points and difficulties of next semester's curriculum, shared methods for cultivating mathematical thinking and strengthening the foundation, hoping to 'identify and fill in the gaps' during the holiday. Last but not the least, English teachers laid emphasis on the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, providing guidance on how to cultivate language sense through daily English listening exercises, watching English movies, and reading simple English materials. In the meantime, other teachers of the subjects in the Senior High School Entrance Examination, based on the characteristics of their respective subjects, provided scientific learning suggestions to parents and students, helping them to improve in a targeted manner. Additionally, after the parents' meetings, everyone had in-depth exchanges.
More noticeably, at the parents' meetings, head teachers brought handwritten letters that students had secretly prepared in which students poured out their innermost thoughts that they would never dare to express in public onto the pages. Evidently, the long or short words became the swift birds that conveyed their feelings, serving as a small window for parents to understand their children's inner world.
In conclusion, not only is this gathering in the midst of summer a profound dialogue between home and school, but also a beautiful promise about growth. Thus, let's all look forward to the starry September night together.
